TURN-BACK FEES

As we discussed at this year's annual meeting, we have begun implementing a full game fee fine for turning back an already accepted game on the day of a weekend game (or within 24 hours) and a 1/2 game fee for a turn back of an already accepted weekend game within 48 hours of the assigned game or games.  This was put in place as a deterrent because it puts additional stress on an already stressed out system. It is unfair to EBUA and whoever assigned your game to have to find a replacement on such short notice with almost every, if not all, available guys already assigned to games.  This fine system isn't meant to "make us extra money." It was decided to put this system into place to prevent it from happening. It's completely unacceptable, selfish and inconsiderate for you to turn-back a game the day of or within 24 hours of your accepted game for a Saturday or Sunday game. 

There are some exceptions obviously and we will judge each individual situation accordingly but just like all High School Associations do, we are committed to implementing this policy in hopes that it prevents these turn-backs from occurring. 

WE NEED YOU TO HONOR YOUR COMMITMENTS!!!

Unlike HS baseball, we can not take these fines out of your payments because you are paid directly at each game. Fortunately, there hasn't been many subjected to adhere to this policy so obviously it has been working thus far as a deterrent. If you receive an e mail informing you about your penalty, please remit your payment as soon as possible to EBUA.

WITHIN 24 HOURS and/or SAME DAY TURN-BACKS

If an Umpire turns back an already accepted game or games on the DAY OF OR WITHIN 24 HOURS of a game or games - there is A FULL GAME FEE penalty. 

If a double header is turned back on the DAY OF OR WITHIN 24 HOURS - there is  A FULL DOUBLE HEADER FEE penalty.

TURN-BACKS WITHIN 48 HOURS OF SATURDAY & SUNDAY GAMES

If an Umpire turns back an already accepted game or games WITHIN 48 HOURS of a Saturday or Sunday game or games - there is A 1/2 GAME FEE penalty.  If a double header is turned back WITHIN 48 HOURS - there is  A 1/2 DOUBLE HEADER FEE penalty.
